Come together with people passionate about food hardship in Derbyshire, who are working for a country where no one has to spend a day hungry. 

This will be the first county conference bringing together people from across the food agenda (including those with lived experience of food insecurity), with experts in policy and welfare rights.

The symposium aims to provide new insights into the escalating issues around food poverty, share best practice, and offer the opportunity to speak directly to policy makers who can help make a difference in the future.

This event is particularly aimed at:

• Food banks / food projects
• Community groups, charities, voluntary sector organisations
• Policy makers in District and Borough Councils
• Faith groups
• Service providers e.g. Job centres, Welfare rights, NHS, CAB's, Mental Health, Schools

Discussions will include:

• The current local situation - including how to fundraise for, and develop food banks
• The impact of welfare rights changes including Universal Credit
• How to use food surplus better
• Improving communications and developing local networks
• How can we influence policy and decision makers?
