Bolsover district has fifteen parish/town councils who have powers to carry out a range of functions. Activities vary between councils according to size, but usually they cover issues such as burials, allotments, public halls and playing fields.
They also provide a representative voice on behalf of the local community and are consulted on things like planning applications.
Each parish/town council employs a clerk who is responsible for administrative and financial affairs, and other staff may be employed depending on the scale of activity. The parish/town councils within the district are listed below and the links will direct you to their website where possible.
